Airplane Beauty Essentials

So there you are… it’s 5:57am and you are sitting in the last gate of the airport. Gate 39 of the Gates 1-39 This Way sign, and you’re feeling like you could use a nap or a caffeine IV, or both. You’re struggling to process the fact that you’re awake because you went to bed at 2am last night, and you’re wondering why you even bought an almond croissant from the Peet’s Coffee stand because you’re not even in the least bit hungry. And then you look at yourself and realize that you’re wearing your old ragged sweatpants and that cat sweater that everybody keeps telling you that you need throw away.

This is a post for what products to use when you feel like your life is crumbling to pieces before the hour of 6am and there’s a chance that the person next to you on the plane might talk to you and you need to look acceptable. These products will transform you from that person into that person that has their life together. Let’s get started.

Maybelline Baby Lips in Cherry Red. A tinted lip balm that will change your life. Like, if Buddy The Elf saw you sitting in the corner of his dad’s office, he would be all like “You have such a pretty face, you should be on a Christmas card!” before he returned to his daily routine of sipping coffee very slowly. I own two of these, one that I keep at home and one that I keep in my purse. Perfect for travel!

Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream – I picked this up because I really like this line of products, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that the BB Cream is incredulous (is that a word?). I applied this at 4:30am before leaving for the airport, and it helped me look like a normal person instead of a zombie. THE BEST PART? It applies like a moisturizer but covers redness like a high-end product. I’m the shade Medium.

BareMinerals 5-in-1 BB Advanced Performance Cream Eyeshadow – This cream eyeshadow basically works as a neutral base for any additional eyeshadows that you won’t be putting on your eyes because it’s 6am. Cool, right? No but really, this product is easy to apply and blend, conceals any veins or discoloration, is long-wearing, and brightens up your eyes which thus brightens up your face. I have a sample of this and it’s not only a really good product, but it’s also super portable.

Loreal Paris Voluminous Mascara – Just wear the mascara. Just wear it. It’ll open up your eyes and add some dimension to your face. I just tried this one and it’s gooood.

Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleaning Wipes – These are incredible. I’ve probably used one of these every single day for the past two years. They take all the makeup/buildup off of your face without drying out your skin. They also work as general clean-up wipes if your hands are dirty or something. Perfect for long flights when you get to hour five and realize that you no longer care if you look acceptable. Also, they sell mini versions of this which are perfect for travel.

And there you have it. Your airplane essentials. Just FYI, every product I mentioned except for the cream eyeshadow is from the drugstore. I’m attempting to film a new video sometime soon so if you want to see any of these products in action, lemme know!
