While I was watching videos on YouTube the other day, I stumbled upon an interview that Teen Vogue did with Alexa Chung. If you don’t know, Alexa Chung is a British model turned TV host, who, if you can’t tell by the above picture, has released her own book titled It. After watching that interview of hers, I became immensely interested in her sense of style, apparent love of breakfast food, and ability to guess one’s career path based upon what time they wake up in the morning. With an unused Amazon gift card in my possession, I quickly ordered It along with another book that I am way too excited about but cannot mention because it is a birthday present for one of my friends who may or may not read this blog.
Anyways, what I love about It is that it feels more like a journal than a novel. From the very first page, you can sense that this book is an extension of who she is as a person. It is full of pictures she has taken over the years, sketches, and monologues about her life ranging from her immense fear of the hair salon to the five items in her wardrobe that she cannot live without (she lists 9). After making my way through the book, I really only have one question: “Alexa Chung, would you like to be my friend?”

Thanks for reading! You are a most wonderful human being. Have a nice day!
