“Do something that scares you every single day.” That’s what we are told at the beginning of every year because apparently if we do things that scare us, we will grow from them and become better people. I disagree with this statement. I think that when an opportunity for you to do something that scares you apprears, you should take it. You should take it when it appears because fear is really only a mindset that has been engrained in you after years of stereotyping. My motto could not be more opposite than “do something that scares you every single day.” My motto is: “Do something that makes you happy every single day.” I think it’s SO important to make happiness a priority in your life. If that means sometimes not caring about the world and focusing solely on yourself and your love for knitting socks, then so be it. Personally, I absolutely LOVE to go to Starbucks, order a Grande Nonfat Cappuccino, and sit there on my computer to “study.” Now, when I say study I actually mean that I fully intend on studying every time I go, but it more often than not ends up being a bit of studying and then surfing the internet for pictures of kittens in sweaters. So that’s what I do approximately 4 times a week. And it makes me happy and therefore everything is grand in the world.
The purpose of this blog post was to update you on my life because it’s been a while since you and I have chatted. And you know how much I love to chat. So now that we have covered approximately half of the exciting things that have happened in my life (Starbucks), we can move on to other important issues of my oh-so-fascinating life.
First of all, I am now in my senior year at UC Davis. I have decided that I absolutely love Springtime in Davis. I wore shorts the other day and it was one of the most magnificent feelings in the entire world. I love me some shorts. Especially the ones that I bought in London that have shrunk but I can still squeeze into and call it a day. I am planning on graduating this coming June with a double major in Communication and Psychology with a minor Writing. How do you complete all of that in 4 years, you ask? Well.. it’s called 5 classes during my last quarter of college, that’s how. I’m not looking forward to my projected lack of free time, but I know it will be worth it to crank it all out. At least that’s what I’m banking on.
I am currently applying to two separate Publishing programs in New York City and Denver for after graduation. Cross your fingers for me that I get into at least one of them or else my complete lack of free time next quarter will be taken up with frantic job searching, my least favorite pastime.
In other news, next week I travel to Omaha, Nebraska. Why, you ask? For the opening night of Taylor Swift’s Red Tour. That’s why. Why am I flying out for that, you ask? Search my blog. I’m sure you’ll find something or other about it. I’m really excited to see all my favorite people and one of my best friends is flying out to go with me. See ya soon March 13th.
Today was also a super exciting day because I used a hair dryer. I haven’t used a hair dryer in years if that. No, I am not allergic to hair dryers. And no, I do not own a hair dryer. I just so happened to steal my roommate’s because she wasn’t here. And yes it went well, thanks for asking. My hair is now dry.
I also fell off my bike yesterday while biking to my midterm. So that was eventful. I’m not entirely sure why my feet decided they didn’t want to use the pedals anymore.. They are excellent pedals if you ask me.
And as a final update, I have been LOVING Of Monsters and Men’s album, My Head Is An Animal. I’m listening to it right now in fact.
And that concludes my update. I’m sorry I haven’t posted in so long, I just was at a complete loss of what to write. I’m thinking about making this blog more of a day-to-day thing. I want to have more pictures of my life and what makes me happy. I hope you will like that. I just felt like my posts were starting to get really repetitive. REALLY repetitive. Until next time, toodles!!
